Monkey Bread

Whenever I do pizza, I always have some leftover dough. It just seems that I can’t get my servings right! So with that leftover dough I had two options; either freeze it and use it for later or cook something with it. There are a lot of stuff to do with leftover pizza dough from calzones to cinnamon rolls they are all pretty simple to do. This time I’ve chosen to do something called a monkey bread. It’s pretty much like a cinnamon roll but with a different shape to be honest. The reason behind its unusual name is unknown , some people say that is because people eat it with their hands but I don’t see the relevance. Whatever the name is this is really good eaten just out of the oven. Even though it is not the healthiest thing to eat,it tastes great and is pretty easy to make.
This is the link to the original recipe with the dough and everything but I’ve changed it a little bit , so ill write what I did
Original recipe
The pan you use for this is called a bundt pan, it’s the one with the thing in the middle so that when we get the bread out it’ll be hollow in the middle
The ingredients are pretty easy, in the bottom of the pan you create this glaze with 2tbsp of cream 2tbsp of butter and 1/3cups of brown sugar, you simply bring them to a boil over medium heat and there you have it.its sort of like a caramel and it is pretty easy, I was hesitant about it at first since I pretty much ruin every caramel or caramel like glaze or so that I make but this turned out pretty well! After you put that at the bottom you can put some nuts if you’d like.then you make a work station. Start with your dough and roll it into balls, coat it in melted butter then do a sugar cinnamon mixture (I use about 4tbsp sugar with about 3/4 tbsp of cinnamon but this can be adjusted to your personal taste) So after you put it in the butter you just dip it in the mixture and make sure it’s coated from all sides with the mixture. Put it in your pan then just pop it into the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 35-40 minutes until the top is brown and that’s it! Don’t be scared if you find kind of like not smoke but lighter filling the kitchen it does that and I don’t know why! Leave it to completely rest at least about 20 minutes then flip it and there you have it,beautiful monkey bread! I hope you enjoy it cause it is really good and easy!
–note– if you don’t have the bundt pan it really doesn’t matter just put it in any type of pan the bundt pan is simply for giving it this shape.
