Who doesn’t like spring rolls? Spring rolls are one of these Asian foods that you can’t resist! Filled with vegetables, beef, chicken,or prawns, they taste like heaven. Here is a very easy and simple recipe that I’ve made by gathering a lot of recipes from the internet and a little bit of inventing too!
2tbsp sesame oil
1tsp fresh ginger chopped
2-3 medium sized green bell peppers, cut into matchsticks
1 to 2 cups of shredded cabbage
2-3 medium sized carrots, cut into very thin matchsticks
(please note that you can add other ingredients for filling as you like, also quantity may be changed to personal taste depending on how full you want your spring rolls to be)
1 pack of spring roll wrappers-contains 12 wrappers
For the sauce:
2tbsp lime juice
2tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp sugar
In a large pan,on medium-high heat fry the sesame oil with ginger about 2-3 minutes. Add all vegetables to the pan. Keep frying on pan for about 5-7 minutes and as you are stir-frying add the sauce (combine it first). Box them all together and turn off the heat.
To assemble the rolls, I’ve found that the best way was this video:
After rolling, fry them in a deep frier for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown, for a lighter version, bake them in the over per instructions on the back of your spring roll wrapper.
I hope you’ll like it!
